KetamineTherapy Groups

A ketamine therapy group is an affordable alternative to individual ketamine therapy.

Our ketamine therapy groups, which include three ketamine sessions, are designed to build momentum and lead to quicker, symptom-relieving results.

With a focus on embodiment and self-compassion, our ketamine therapy groups can help unlock deeper creativity, nourish the nervous system and brain, and create change on a neurobiological level for a full-system reset.

If you’ve been curious about ketamine therapy but are looking for a quicker and more affordable option, a ketamine therapy group may be right for you.

How Does Ketamine Help?

Let’s start with ketamine. Ketamine therapy has been proven to create neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to change and rewire), which leads to positive shifts in several factors that increase depression and anxiety, including:

  • Mood

  • Stress levels

  • Negative self-talk

  • Unhelpful coping behaviors

Extensive research has shown that ketamine therapy alleviates the symptoms of treatment-resistant depression, in particular. We have found that ketamine also alleviates anxiety, panic disorders, and other trauma-related symptoms, and can lead to a general sense of improved well-being. Some previous group members have even reduced their use of anti-depressants (but please, speak with your medical provider before considering this).

So, What Makes a Ketamine Therapy Group Different?

Joining a ketamine therapy group offers several advantages over individual ketamine therapy. In a group setting, you will be invited (if you choose) to share your experience with others, fostering a sense of shared understanding and community. Group therapy is beloved in the therapy world for the following reasons, among others:

  • Shared understanding and empathy between group members

  • Diversity of perspectives leads to more creativity and collaboration

  • Opportunity to learn and grow interpersonal skills

  • Connection and social support

  • Affordability

Our intention as facilitators is to create an environment of warmth and inclusion so that the felt sense of community in the ketamine therapy group may alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness. We believe that healing happens within community.

Perhaps most noteworthy, ketamine therapy groups are an affordable alternative to individual therapy, which can speed up the pace of your healing process through back-to-back ketamine sessions. Research has shown that stacking several ketamine sessions together (within one to two weeks of each other) yields better results. In our group, we always offer three ketamine sessions within one week of each other so that you get the maximum benefit.

If you’ve been considering ketamine therapy but would like to try a faster alternative to individual sessions, our ketamine therapy groups are an affordable and effective therapeutic option.

What to Expect

Preparation Session

Arrive

You will meet your facilitators and group members in the preparation session. We will practice mindfulness and somatic techniques that may be useful during your ketamine journeys. We will let you know what to expect from ketamine, the neuroscience of ketamine, and how to prepare and integrate your medicine sessions into daily life. We will support you in identifying your intentions for the medicine sessions.

Medicine Sessions

Drop in

Each ketamine session follows a similar format: First, you will set up your “nest,” the space you journey in (includes a mat on the floor, pillows, etc.). Collectively, we will drop in with mindfulness and somatic exercises, invite you to contribute to the altar, and set intentions for the medicine journey. You will take the ketamine and journey for about two hours (you are welcome to “come out” sooner). To close, we will invite participants to share as much or as little as they’d like about their experience.

Integration Session

Close

The final group together is designed to pull together all the loose threads that may have come up in your medicine sessions. We facilitate a council-style circle for you to share your experiences, insights, challenges, and takeaways. We will offer additional support, such as journaling, contemplation practices, and/or body-centered exercises, to integrate your experience. We will close the container with a dedication and gratitude practice.

Why Consider a Ketamine Therapy Group?

A ketamine therapy group provides, for many, a much-needed nervous system reset and neurobiological recalibration. The group format itself offers an opportunity for self-discovery and interpersonal connection.

Even if you are not struggling with a mental health challenge, but simply want to experience ketamine therapy and continue your spiritual and personal healing work, we invite you to join.

Our somatic and mindfulness-based orientation equips you with practical tools and exercises to support and nourish your nervous system, even (and especially) after the group concludes. We regularly include interventions that support the practice of self-compassion, radical acceptance, and presence.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety and depression, or simply want a unique and radical option for deeper personal growth, you are welcome here.

Ketamine Therapy Group FAQs

  • We accept credit, debit, and HSA cards (with a small transaction fee). For no fee, you are welcome to send payment via Venmo or Zelle.

  • No, unfortunately, insurance does not cover the cost of group therapy.

  • We request a deposit of half the cost of the group in order to reserve your space. If you need to cancel before the group starts, we ask for at least one week’s notice in order to receive a full refund. We request the final payment (the remaining half) on the day the group starts.

We offer payment plans on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to inquire further about this, please let us know and we would be glad to work with you.

  • We have observed that three ketamine sessions back to back (one per week) have a powerful cumulative effect on the brain and nervous system, usually leading to a significant reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety. Two sessions are often not enough to get there—and more than three sessions can become cost-prohibitive to some. We strive to make our groups accessible.

  • Of course! If you already have a ketamine prescription that you’re able to use in our group (with permission from your prescriber!), you are welcome to bring it to the group and we will deduct the cost of your medical intake from the total enrollment fee.

  • We return inquiry emails within one business day, Monday through Friday. Inquiries received Friday late afternoon or evening are addressed on Monday. Please check your junk mail or spam folders if you have not heard from us within that time frame. Email is the best way to get in touch with us.

  • For reference, individual ketamine therapy breaks down into the following:

$185/50-minute session (five to 10 are recommended)

$300-400 for medical evaluation with psychiatrist

    $50 for ketamine prescription

$575/three-hour ketamine session (at least three is recommended)

Ketamine therapy groups are $1,900 for a preparation session, an integration session, three medicine sessions, and a medical evaluation.

  • We use sublingual ketamine (oral lozenge) in our groups.
