The
Difference

Together, we will listen closely to your body’s cues for direction. In both our clinical practice and personal lives, we align with the Eastern philosophy that our bodies are our greatest source of wisdom. We bring a diverse and unique approach to trauma-focused therapy, combining academic and evidence-based principles with creativity, neuroscience, play, and movement.

Trained, in large part, by life experience, we are here to tell you that healing is possible. We specialize in EMDR and somatic psychotherapy, ketamine therapy, and contemplative wisdom traditions for a holistic and integrated approach. We love to work directly with the emotional and somatic channels, inviting clients into deeper presence of their embodied experience.

Our Philosophy

Who We Are

Beliefs

We believe in the Buddhist concept of “Brilliant Sanity,” which says that within every human, regardless of what they have been through in life, there exists goodness and well-being that is everyone’s birthright. We believe that therapy is meant to uncover this brilliance; it’s a homecoming to what’s already whole.

How We Work

Approach

With decades of experience combined, our team offers a holistic and non-traditional approach to trauma therapy. While we believe there’s a time and place for talking, we lean heavily on a “bottom-up” therapeutic approach that uses body-centered and mindfulness-based trauma therapy techniques meant to work directly with the nervous system.

What We Do

Methods

Our skilled therapists are trained in EMDR, mindfulness, psychedelic, and somatic therapies. We lean heavily on evidence-based modalities in our sessions, such as EMDR, somatic therapy, ketamine therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques, which are all backed by the latest research on the brain and nervous system.

Therapist

Trayci Prince, DBH, LPC, NCC

I developed an intuitive ability and passion for helping vulnerable populations when I was young.

My life journey has been one of deep empathic understanding and love for everything that makes each of us different. When I work with clients, I celebrate their uniqueness and love to support them in achieving a life that feels most aligned. You might say that I’m a “career-whisperer”; one of my unique therapeutic gifts is supporting clients to cultivate fulfilling careers.

With doctorate training in integrative healthcare from the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and the University of Arizona, I have extensive experience working with co-morbid medical and psychological health challenges. I am passionate about working with marginalized communities and bring a trauma-informed approach to my work with LGBTQ+ youth, adults, and families, as well as the HIV+ community. I have always felt an affinity and camaraderie with those on the fringes.

Trained in EMDR, I bring a trauma-focused approach to all of my therapeutic work and have 18+ years of experience working with complex trauma and PTSD. As a mind-body therapist and former Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) co-facilitator at the University of Arizona’s Integrative Health Center, I believe in the benefits of working directly with the body for deeper trauma integration and well-being.

Founder & Director

Kirsten Hartz, MA, LPC, LAC

I see myself as a companion and guide for highly sensitive, empathic individuals seeking a path to recovery from trauma.

If you’re the kind of person who feels big emotions (like tearing up at a beautiful sunset), tends to everyone else’s needs but your own, and struggles with self-care and boundaries, I’m here for you. I love to help my highly sensitive clients build healthier relationships with clear boundaries, swap out negative self-talk, find new ways of relating to their anxiety and depression, and come home to their bodies.

As a survivor of profound loss, I understand what it’s like to take a healing journey. I humbly see myself as a fellow traveler on the path, always growing, learning, and evolving. Both in my own life and those of my clients, I have witnessed and believe in the healing power of embodiment to recover from deep pain. In my work, there is always space for vulnerable moments, profound realizations, uninhibited emotions, and very often, deep belly laughs.

Couples Therapy

In the safe, nonjudgmental space of couples counseling, you will experience the transformative support of a third-party professional who will help you articulate your inner experience to your partner in a healthy, constructive way. We want to show you how to avoid cycling through the same conflict repeatedly by providing you with customized tools and psychoeducation on self-soothing, co-regulation, and communication so that you can move through the “stuck” areas of your relationship.

Ketamine
Therapy

Ketamine therapy has become increasingly popular in the mental health world because of its efficacy in treating depression and other trauma symptoms. Ketamine creates neuroplasticity in the brain so that new connections can form, which leads to cognitive and behavioral change. We combine ketamine therapy with other trauma-focused modalities for a holistic approach.

Trauma Therapy

Our team uses EMDR, an evidence-based modality, along with somatic therapies to treat complex trauma and PTSD. EMDR has been shown to decrease trauma symptoms and desensitize trauma-related triggers in individuals. We combine EMDR with somatic therapies and mindfulness-based techniques for an effective “bottom-up” approach that regulates and nourishes the nervous system. A regulated nervous system is the foundation for mental well-being.
