Psilocybin Therapy in Denver
Where traditional therapy gives insight but not transformation, psilocybin therapy offers a different path.
Psilocybin works at the intersection of neuroscience and mysticism by creating profound shifts in consciousness that allow you to see yourself, your patterns, and new possibilities with fresh eyes. Psilocybin-assisted therapy isn’t just about managing symptoms; it’s about catalyzing genuine change at the deepest levels of your psyche and biology.
Research shows psilocybin therapy creates lasting results for conditions that have resisted other treatments:
Treatment-resistant depression
Complex trauma and PTSD
Existential anxiety and loss of meaning
Rigid thought patterns and beliefs
Relational disconnection and intimacy blocks
Spiritual stagnation
We offer psilocybin therapy to individuals and couples in Colorado seeking the kind of breakthrough that only psychedelic-assisted therapy can provide.

What is Psilocybin Therapy?
If you’re struggling with depression, trauma, or feeling disconnected from meaning and purpose, psilocybin therapy offers a profound tool for exploring the deeper layers of consciousness that shape your life experience.
Psilocybin creates what researchers call “ego dissolution,” which is a temporary softening of the rigid boundaries between self and world that allows you to step outside your habitual patterns and see with a radical new perspective. When combined with trauma-focused therapies, this expanded state of consciousness lets you access memories, emotions, and insights that your everyday defenses usually keep locked away. For many, a psilocybin journey feels like coming home to yourself. It’s often both deeply emotional and spiritually revelatory.
In this state of non-ordinary consciousness, you may experience profound connection to something larger than yourself, encounter suppressed emotions with newfound compassion, or gain clarity about patterns that have kept you stuck. Our therapists are present throughout your journey, offering somatic grounding and gentle guidance to help you navigate the experience and integrate what emerges.
This Is Sacred Medicine
Psilocybin doesn’t just create temporary relief, but fundamentally rewires your brain’s default mode network, the neural circuitry responsible for self-referential thinking, rumination, and rigid behavioral patterns. Research shows that psilocybin creates a window of neuroplasticity that can last for weeks after your session.
During this time, your brain becomes remarkably malleable, forming new neural connections and pathways that can shift long-held beliefs, emotional responses, and ways of relating. This neuroplastic window is why integration work is so crucial—it's your opportunity to consciously shape the new patterns that are forming and embody the insights that emerged during your journey.
Psilocybin therapy is where ancient wisdom meets cutting-edge neuroscience. After your sessions, many clients describe feeling more alive, more connected, and more able to meet life with openness rather than defense.

The Benefits
Ketamine therapy is a quick treatment and has few side effects
Ketamine leads to neuroplasticity, meaning your brain will become more flexible and open to positive change
You can stay on your prescribed medication while undergoing ketamine therapy
Ketamine therapy has incredible success and remission rates of treatment-resistant depression and anxiety, among other trauma symptoms
Ketamine makes it a little easier to explore challenging memories, emotions, and core material that may otherwise be left unaddressed
Intentions You May Choose to Get There
To compassionately explore self-defeating patterns
To feel relief from treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and grief
To connect with God, Spirit, your Higher Self, or the Universe
To surrender and trust in life’s unfolding
To be able to step into the “witness perspective”
To feel safe in your body
To receive clarity around purpose and meaning
To feel connected to your ancestors

Note: While setting intentions is helpful, it’s also important to hold them lightly! Ketamine is a medicine with its own intelligence, and a psychedelic journey isn’t one that we can control (more on this in our sessions).
What to Expect
Getting Started
Consultation Call & Intake
First, we’ll schedule a 15-minute complimentary phone consultation. This allows us to get a feel for each other, and for you to learn more about ketamine and how it might serve you. If ketamine therapy is right for you, we’ll schedule your intake.
During your 60-minute intake, we’ll discuss a rough outline of your treatment plan, including the recommended course of treatment and what to expect. Our intake will also include gathering information about your family and trauma history. We also want to learn about your hopes, desires, and challenges as we embark on this journey together.
Creating a Container
Connect With Your Therapist & Prescriber
Once we’re ready to move forward with ketamine therapy we will connect you with a prescriber who will meet with you for a medical intake and prescribe the ketamine. You are in charge of arranging this appointment and procuring the ketamine prescription before the first ketamine therapy session.
One of the most important aspects of ketamine therapy is… the therapy!
When you take ketamine, you surrender to an altered state of relational and psychological openness. For this reason, the best way to facilitate lasting and significant change is within a structured and supportive therapeutic relationship. We recommend treating your therapeutic journey as a holistic one that may include EMDR, somatic therapy, and other therapeutic modalities during the preparation and integration sessions.
During our intake and the sessions leading up to the first ketamine therapy session, we will discuss:
Your intentions for the experience
What to expect in the ketamine sessions
How to prepare for these sessions
Tools for integration
We suggest meeting anywhere from five to 10 times before you do a ketamine session so that we can build a trusting therapeutic container.
The Psilocybin Treatment
The Psilocybin Therapy Session
The ketamine therapy session itself will begin with establishing a “set and setting” that supports your nervous system, which may include:
A grounding practice
Intention setting
A simple ritual to open the session
You’ll take the sublingual ketamine and relax in the intentional space we’ve created until the medicine sets in. Depending on your dose and intentions for the journey, you may want to talk or you may want to go inward. In our experience, you will likely find yourself moving between speaking and introspection.
Throughout your experience, we will support you in staying connected to your body and the felt sense of your emotions. You may want to wear an eye mask to block out light, which can facilitate a deeper experience.
After your experience has ended, and with the time remaining in the session, we may discuss insights and downloads from your experience.
Please note:
Ketamine will create new neural pathways and heal your brain, all on its own, regardless of the experience you have in your journey.
Your ketamine therapy experience will be unique to you, and each of your sessions will likely be different.
On the day of your journey, please plan for the whole session to take three hours.
While it’s difficult to give a general recommendation for everyone, we usually recommend a minimum of three ketamine therapy sessions to create lasting changes in your brain and nervous system. You may consider six or more sessions for maximum results.
What Makes Our Psilocybin Therapy Different?
Ketamine is a commonly used anesthetic in medical settings and has been included in the World Health Organization’s List of 100 Essential Medicines. In other words, it is very safe—it’s even used on premature babies. Ketamine has become a more common feature in therapy offices as a treatment for myriad symptoms related to trauma, including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
You may have heard about IV ketamine clinics—this is not what we do. Sona Collective offers ketamine therapy with the therapy and an emphasis on integration. The difference between ketamine-assisted therapy in our office and receiving a ketamine infusion at an IV clinic is that we use a holistic, compassionate, and trauma-informed approach, which focuses on repairing relational wounds and therapeutically treating the trauma itself to achieve deeper and longer-lasting healing.
In our office, ketamine is a tool (one of many in the toolbox!) that helps you access deeper parts of your psyche and understand core material in a safe and comfortable “set and setting,” which refers to the environment and context in which you take the medicine, your intention, and the integration that follows. Trauma-informed ketamine therapy works because we tailor your “set and setting” to your therapeutic needs.
Get Lasting Relief.
Suppose you are ready to try ketamine therapy as a treatment for depression, anxiety, and other trauma-related symptoms. In that case, Sona Collective is here to help you live a more present and engaged life.

It is hard to give a prescriptive recommendation to everyone, but we have found that ketamine therapy usually requires a minimum of three sessions to build momentum and create sufficient neuroplasticity. In order to create a safe and secure container (e.g. the therapeutic relationship), we recommend starting with five to 10 50-minute sessions to build rapport with your therapist and begin the holistic treatment plan.
